Sidereus Astronomical Park in Salve
In addition to the shimmering sea and the splendor of the historic centers of Salento, in the evening, from the fragrant countryside of Salve, you can turn your gaze to the infinite starry sky
discovering secrets and curiosities.
The Sidereus Astronomical Park covers about 5000 square meters and offers a series of telescopes for the observation of the moon, planets, nebulae and all the celestial wonders, a Planetarium in which it is possible to live an exciting journey in the skies of every age and latitude and a radio telescope to “listen” to the voice of the stars.
Equally fascinating, however, are the exhibition of meteorites from all over the world, the sundials of every type, the solar system and the scale models Nasa, the material that has traveled in space aboard the Space Shuttle and the screening of micro thematic documentaries .
An all-round visit between astronomy, astrophysics and astronautics, expertly guided by Vito Lecci, scientific divulger.
