Torrepaduli Museum of Rural Civilization
The museum of CIVILTA ‘CONTADINA, founded in 2002 is housed on the ground floor of the eighteenth-century Palazzo Pasanisi of Torrepaduli (LE) with 9 rooms and consists of a large courtyard.
Work tools of the blacksmith, the blacksmith, the cooper, the farmer, the miller, the tinker, the arrotine, the mason, the shoemaker, the barber and various ethnographic objects are exhibited.
The Museum offers the visitor the opportunity of an interesting journey within the rural culture of Salento from the end of the 1800s until a few decades ago.
During the trip we discover agricultural traditions and traditions that preserve, still intact today, all the charm of the laborious and ancient relationship between nature and the history of man, while, in setting up the furnishings, one can find the atmosphere of life daily, typical of the families of the time.
